Battleground Country Club’s “3rd Annual Play for P.I.N.K. Golf Outing” Raises $27K

  • September 27, 2012

Battleground Country Club proudly announces the success of their ‘3rd Annual Play for P.I.N.K. Golf Outing and Dinner Auction’, which raised nearly $30,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The event that was held at the Club on September 19, 2012 was organized by Battleground’s own Pink Committee, members Jenn Feinerman, Nancy & Gino DeFalco, Mary & Richie Vulpis, and Mary & Jonathan Vitale.

“Our club was honored to host an amazing event that allowed us to work closely together with a team of member volunteers for such a worthy cause. The dedication of the committee, sponsors, participants and the community was absolutely outstanding,” said David Karner, General Manager/COO, Battleground Country Club.

A full day of events, made possible through generous sponsorships, involved over 124 golfers dedicated to the cause. A $75 dollar entry fee from participants was donated entirely to the Play for P.I.N.K. foundation, but was just the beginning of what golfers were willing to spend in the name of breast cancer research. Sponsorships by MDB Development Corporation, Cristina Debellas, Frank & Alice Keating, Dynasty Advisors and countless others contributed to an amazing day that surpassed all expectations.

Attendees spent the day playing the course and participating in various activities including a putting contest and a fire truck ball drop. The Manalapan Township Fire
Company #1 kindly provided the fire truck use for the drop as guests looked on to see whose golf ball would land in the hole of the simulated green. Anthony Coniglio and JD Gardner were the big winners of $850, which they charitably donated back to Play for P.I.N.K.

A dinner and gift auction concluded the event with over 150 participants eagerly bidding on an array of donated items secured from gracious sponsors and supporting members of the community.

Pink Committee member, Nancy DeFalco proudly announced, “This event was better than we had hoped for and we'd like to thank the Battleground Country Club, their staff and more importantly, our Battleground members for that. They supported this event and great cause
from the start and without them and the help of our friends and family this day would not have been such a success!"

About Battleground Country Club

The beauty of Battleground Country Club has been enjoyed by many for over 50 years. What also makes our full-service club special is its rich history. George Washington’s Continental Army fought the British at the Battle of Monmouth on June 28, 1778 on this very soil. These woods are silent now.

Today, a private, championship golf course and country club makes history of a different story. Here, battles are now won by those who fire the fewest shots and a different series of events are being recorded in the personal annals of our satisfied guests.

Whether you’re playing a round of golf, dining in the Members’ Grille Room, lounging by the pool, playing tennis on one of our four outdoor Har-Tru tennis courts, taking advantage of the view and fare in our Terrace on the Green restaurant, which is open to the public, or attending one of our many member functions, there is always “something special” going on at Battleground Country Club.

Our success as a country club is founded upon the mutual respect among members, guests and staff and the continuing legacy of fun and memorable experiences shared with family and friends. Our mission is to provide
consistency of quality across all of our recreational activities including: golf, tennis, swimming and fitness, complimented by an exceptional dining and entertainment experience. Our commitment to our outstanding physical facility is matched by the vitality of our members, guests and staff who place the highest value on having a warm and friendly, family-oriented community.
