Cause of FIre Under Investigation But Deemed 'Non-Suspicious,' Police Said
Police and fire officials arrived at the scene at 35 Symmes Road three minutes after the 10:35 p.m. call.
After arriving on the scene at about three minutes after the 911 call, firefighters and police were able to put out a fire the damaged a home at 35 Symmes Road.
Police offiials said the house was safely evacuated and no one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but is considered "non-suspicious at the time," according to the police report.
Police closed Symmes Road from Monmouth County Library headquarters to Caitlin Way while firefighters combated the fire. They reopened it after the fire was put out at about 1:20 a.m., according to police reports.
