Scott Gibson, a resident of Englishtown, has been indicted by the Grand Jury of Monmouth County for allegedly robbing a home in Middletown on October 21, 2011. Gibson has been indicted on two charges of burglary, two charges of theft of movable property and one charge of resisting arrest.

Gibson was arrested by Middletown police on Oct. 21 after he ran from a home on Marion Way in Middletown with a bag of stolen items in his possession. After further investigation, Middletown police discovered that Gibson was working with a partner, Robert Molchan of Manalapan, and the pair had also robbed another home in Middletown on Courtney Way earlier in the day on Oct. 21. He was sent to jail and held on a bail of $20,000 with no 10 percent option.

According to the indictment issued by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Gibson, 28, entered a home on Oct. 21 in Middletown and stole jewelry valued at over $500. On the same date, according to the indictment, Gibson entered another residence illegally and stole a laptop computer and digital camera, valued in excess of $500.

After exiting the second home he ran from Middletown police officer Corporal B. Chenoweth, and is  thus being indicted on charges of resisting arrest, which is a fourth degree crime.

Regardless of the charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution and state law.
