Eight crews are working on the malfunctioned electrical transformers and two substations without power.

There are eight crews from Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) currently working on the electrical transformers that malfunctioned last night, according to a statement to issued by the Manalapan Township municipal government.

The crews are also working on the Gordon's Corner and Texas Road substations that still have no power. Additional crews have been dispatched to the southern portion of Manalapan to restore power that has been lost their due to the snowstorm and Hurricane Sandy.

The Township indicated that they are aware of all the streets within the community that are still without power, but will not be publicizing them any more due to safety reasons.

Contact has been maintained with officials from JCP&L, including Vice President Mark Jones, area manager Jerry Ricciardi, and local foreman Glen Ford.

Smart not to publicize dark streets, especially with the recent spate of burglaries.
