Landscaping Truck Involved in Motorcycle Fall
Manalapan man broke his leg in the accident.
A Manalapan man fell off of his motorcycle on Gordon's Corner Road Saturday morning and was rushed to the hospital for a broken leg.
Mark Goebel, 54, was riding in the right lane of Gordon's Corner Road at the intersection of Conmack Lane, when a landscaping vehicle made a right turn onto Conmack, suggesting that Goebel had been cut off, according to Manalapan Police Captain Michael Fountain.
Witnesses said that the driver of the landscaping truck stopped his vehicle on Conmack, exited the truck, returned to the scene to check on Goebel, and then left the area.
Fountain said that the incident cannot be classified officially as a "hit-and-run" because no witnesses have been able to substantiate that the motorcycle and the truck actually made contact.
Witnesses described the truck driver as a Hispanic male, and the department received conflicting descriptions of the color of the truck from observers, but Fountain cited that it is either a red or green pickup truck.
Goebel was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Trauma Center and treated for a broken lower leg.
