Malfunctioning Transformers Leave More Without Power

Residents in the area of Symmes Drive, Craig Road and Tennent Road lost power last night

At around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night some electrical transformers in Manalapan malfunctioned causing even more residents to lose electricity, according a statement issued by the Township.

Residents in the area of Symmes Drive, Craig Road and Tennent Road lost power due to these failing transformers.

Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has been made aware of this problem and power crews are in the area to fix the issue. According to the JCP&L website, there are currently 4,914 residents without power.

" Once they determine what went wrong, they will provide an estimate as to when power will be restored," the statement said.

The Township continues to ask residents to remain patient in this frustrating and trying time.
