Obituary: Barry R. Kurtz, 82

Barry R. Kurtz, 82, of Manalapan, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from complications following heart surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was born to the late Ada and Herman Kurtz on Jan. 10, 1930 in Brooklyn.
Barry graduated from Boys High, attended Brooklyn College and was a Korean War Army veteran. Barry was the owner of Pension Advisory Services, a pension actuarial firm, until his death.
He was on the board and the former president of the American Ethical Union and was a member of the American Humanist Association, the Brookdale Computer Users Group, and the Estate Planning Council of Central New Jersey. He enjoyed spending time with his family in Vermont, wrestling with new computer technologies, and studying comparative religion.
Barry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deborah Kurtz and 3 children, Lynn Kurtz Franco of New Jersey, Bruce Allan Kurtz of Long Island, and Dayna Kurtz of Brooklyn. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nicole, Jonathan and Lucas.
