A Manalapan woman was arrested after allegedly masturbating in front of a 5-year-old, according to an arrest warrant issued by the Manalapan Police Department.

Jennifer E. Mahoney, 32, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 13 on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and sexual assault.

Manalapan police and FBI agents were observed around Mahoney’s residence at 8 Becket Road on Tuesday morning. FBI agents were seen going in and out of the home and unmarked gold Ford sedans lined the street.

Special Agent Bryan Travers, the media coordinator of FBI - Newark Division confirmed that a search warrant was executed at a home located on Becket Road yesterday, but would not provide any additional information about the ongoing investigation. Travers was contacted again this morning and would not release any additional information about the investigation.

According to the police warrant issued by police, Mahoney allegedly masturbated in front of the child on multiple occasions throughout 2011. Detective Kevin Schmidt, of the Manalapan Police Department, is assigned to the investigation.

Mahoney’s initial appearance in front of Judge John G. Colannino is scheduled for Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. She is remanded at Monmouth County Correctional Institute in Freehold in default of her bail, set at $250,000.
