Straighten Out at Joffe Family Chiropractic

Dr. Peter Joffe grew up in Manalapan Township and runs his practice there.

Manalapan Chiropractor Peter Joffe has been mending backs for nearly 12 years. He opened his own office, Joffe Family Chiropractic, in his hometown of Manalapan eight years ago, just one mile away from where he grew up.

A graduate of New York Chiropractic College in 2001, Joffe runs his family practice all by himself and is always accessible to his patients, as his number one priority is giving back to the Manalapan community.

The chiropractic office is a family practice serving adults, seniors, and children, but it’s not all about back or neck pain, Joffe said. Many adults with issues such as chronic headaches, fibromyalgia, nerve problems, or past injuries all benefit from chiropractic care.

The children Joffe helps also come to see him for a variety of reasons besides back health, as chiropractic care aids children with learning disabilities or with chronic health issues such as ear infections or asthma, according to Joffe.

Neurological problems, such as autism or learning disabilities, can be affected by disfunctions within the spine which affect the nerve system, Joffe explained, and the chiropractic care can help improve the children’s symptoms.

By doing a gentle adjustment and realigning the spine, pressure and stress is taken off of the nerve system so that it can function at a higher level, Joffe said. And when that pressure is removed the conditions of the children get better.

“We all should be maintaining our spines regularly from birth,” Joffe said. Most of his new patients are between the ages of 35 and 55 and typically by that age, after many years of poor posture, the symptoms begin to emerge. Joffe recommends that patients come in recurrently to maintain the alignment of their spine.

A lot of the problems that adults have with their spine usually arise at a very young age. Therefore, many parents bring in young children that do not have current back problems as a preventative measure.

“Chiropractic is one spoke in the wheel of a wellness lifestyle from exercising regularly, to eating healthy, to taking vitamins - there’s a lot of things that are a part of the wellness lifestyle and if you really want to maximize it you have to include chiropractic adjustment on some regular basis,” said Joffe.

How we live our daily lives affects our posture, whether it be sitting at a computer for eight hours a day or working with manual labor, Joffe contended. When clients come in for chiropractic care on a regular basis over time they see the best results in spinal health, he said.

Joffe performs the typical, hands-on chiropractic moves for spine adjustment, but he also offers other tools and technologies for those patients that are anxious about the twisting of the spine. Joffe uses a Pro Adjustor Instrument which does the adjustment for Joffe so that there is no twisting or cracking. The tool uses a gentle, percussive tapping on the spine and on the muscles around the spine.

Joffe Family Chiropractic takes most insurances in the office and most people’s insurance have chiropractic coverage. Joffe Family Chiropractic is located at 61 Pease Road in Manalapan Township.
