It should be replaced with a restaurant similar to Basil T's in Red Bank, Stella Marina in Asbury Park and or 709 in Point Pleasant.

Sadly, there are few places in Manalapan that can be as family friendly as "Olde Silver" once was. If you enjoy chain restaurants, then you can travel Rt 9 and take your pick. If someone has the wherewithal to invest a huge amount of money to purchase the property, the liquor license, and bring the place up to code (sewers, etc), it's possible that it could one day be a place where locals come for decent food at decent prices. Alas, it is probably not going to happen. I'll not be surprised to see another CVS or strip mall with yet another pizzeria, tailor, and designer shoes.

Keep it a family type restaurant. This place has been a town landmark for many decades and it's sad to see them all disappearing around here. Hopefully this one will stay and reopen someday in the near future. Whatever and whenever something opens up there again, lets hope they install a new septic system. That was always a huge downfall when you'd park there and smell that while still trying to keep your appetite walking through the parking lot to the building.

how about we reopen the place and put all back the way it was 15 years ago when you can go and get a great ost prime rib and potato,and dont forget the bucket of rocks, rolling rocks in ice. I miss the place,its been through so many owners and they keep saying what can we do to the place to make it different. how about LEAVE IT ALONE, it was fine and very busy, go back to that ill be the first one there.

Get the Baker family to rescue it the way they did Moore's Tavern (Freehold), American Grill (Monroe), Water Street (Toms River)....like Olde Silver's Tavern in its glory days, the Baker's restaurants have a proven, successful formula for offering great comfort/pub food at a great price in a great atmosphere.

If you have a couple of million laying around you can bring it back the liquior license alone is 1 million thats why you'll never see local places owned by local people again

If possible it should be returned to a local family tavern and keep the chains out on route 9!

We do not need another chain restaurant, CVS or Dunkin Donuts, as someone said earlier, go to rt. 9 if you want that!!! Bring back Old Silvers, we need a local tavern!!!

How bout a wine and cheese place that has entertainment/

how about make cabin out of old sivers like steak place and have local bands in their and maybe have comedy night , first they would make handciap bathrrooms for men and ladies ,

Bring it back as the place you could drink when you were 16 yrs old before and after the high school basketball game

a family style place where the teens can come with their friends . its so close to the HS and the rec center- it would be perfect. The teens need a place to hang out to be with their friends.

Great location - could be a gold mine. Great place to go after a game.

Make it an under 21 club. The kids needa place to go locally other than the mall and the streets.

Deep pockets needs to restore it back to old silvers. Chains are ok but not cozy or warm at all. Old silvers is an icon. Buyer gets the name and proven location for free and could buy the remaining assets at a discount. Owners of fireside inn should buy it.

ItIa ashame it would cost to much open a local establishment at the same location. Any business person worth his salt wouldnt invest 4 million in to a restaurant where a majority of the investment is for improvements to a site not to the area that will generate a ROI. It's not adventagious in this economic and political environment. The overhead of Obama care, the increase taxes on small business that generate more that 250k , and the disposable income that will be decreasing over the next four years due to increase cost of products that we buy everyday will start to show in the food service business. The affordable Silver Tavern Prime Rib is a thing of the past

Man, I really would like to have another bar pie from the Old Silver Tavern before I die. Rebuild it as it was and you will have to fight to get a table at that place.

It should become a resturant/bar and show hall. Like the Brighton bar in long branch!

Like to see it return as a bar/restaurant. Local music/open mic night would be great. Maybe outdoor seating.
