Three Men Charged With Manalapan and Tinton Falls Burglaries
Two Asbury Park men and one man from Brick allegedly robbed a Manalapan home and two Tinton Falls homes in one day last year.
Three men were indicted by the Grand Jury of Monmouth County last week for robbing homes in both Manalapan Township and Tinton Falls in 2011.
Altonio Williams, 35, and Creg Curry, 32, both of Asbury Park, and Bernard Valentin, 32, of Brick, allegedly robbed a Manalapan and two Tinton Falls' residences on February 24, 2011.
According to the indictment released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the men stole jewelry and cash valued at over $500 from the Manalapan home. The men allegedly conspired to rob the home and drove to the Manalapan residence with two-way radios and a crowbar. The accused purportedly entered the home and placed jewelry into a pillowcase and were also charged with creating over $500 in damage to the home.
A .45 caliber handgun, collectible coins and jewelry that was allegedly stolen from another person (not the resident of the home) was found on the men when they were arrested. They were also indicted on charges of possessing a handgun without a permit.
The three men also were in possession of additional stolen jewelry belonging to another individual which was worth over $500, according to the indictment, and Curry was additionally charged with carrying a stolen Bulova watch valued at over $500.
On the same day last year, the men allegedly robbed a home in Tinton Falls stealing jewelry valued in excess of $75,000 from the home. According to the indictment, the three men robbed an additional Tinton Falls home on the same day and displayed the .45 caliber handgun, which was stolen from the Tinton Falls homeowner, along with collection coins and jewelry, the indictment said.
Valentin, Williams, and Curry were all charged with certain persons not to have weapons because all have previously been convicted on multiple charges.
Williams was also charged with tampering with a witness or informant, a second degree crime. According to the indictment, on August 26, 2011 Williams allegedly threatened a witness to inform police falsely and employed force on the individual in Long Branch.
On August 29, 2011 Williams also allegedly committed aggravated assault on a police officer in Long Branch and than resisting arrest, both third degree crimes.
