Tips for Gays, Lesbians, and their Parents
Sometimes it's a good idea for kids to come out to their parents, other times it might not be - deciding is never easy. A child coming out can send shock waves through the family as parents struggle with feelings of guilt, grief, and worry. In time, many families not only adjust but become closer than ever before as parents learn to appreciate and value their gay and lesbian kids.
At this workshop Michael LaSala, Ph.D. Rutgers professor and psychotherapist will offer tips that will help guide gay and lesbian youth in their coming out decisions and also help families become closer and stronger than ever before as a result of the coming out process.

More About Manalapan High School
Home of the Braves, Manalapan High School is one of six high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District. It is a comprehensive, four-year public high school that hosts FRHSD's Science and Engineering Learning Center and the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Academy. Notable alumni include David DeJesus and Jason Bergmann of Major League Baseball and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of MTV's Jersey Shore.
