Englishtown and Manalapan Patriot Day Ceremonies, Patriotic Concert

1. Weather: Today will be mostly sunny with a high temperature around 92, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy and the low temperature will drop to about 70. 

2. Government: The Manalapan Township Committee is meeting tonight in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building. The workshop closed session will begin at 6 p.m. and the public session will begin at 8 p.m. 

3. Sept. 11 Memorials: 

Manalapan: A candlelight ceremony will take place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Manalapan Township 9/11 Memorial, which is located within the Manalapan Township Arboretum in front of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building. 

Englishtown: The Englishtown Patriots Day Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday in front of the Englishtown Fire Department at 7 p.m. 

4. Sept. 11 Concert: The Liberty Oak Chorus will be performing on Wednesday at the Monmouth County Library in honor of Patriot’s Day. The Liberty Oak Chorus will be singing an assortment of patriotic songs acappella in commemoration of the day. The chorus is a local chapter of the non-profit Sweet Adelines International. The concert begins at 7 p.m.
