Monmouth County Library Collecting Holiday Gifts for Foster Children

Donations can be made at Monmouth County Library Headquarters in Manalapan.

The Monmouth County Library system is collecting gifts for the foster children of Monmouth County this holiday season. From Nov. 20 through Dec. 17, gift collection boxes will be present in Monmouth County Library during regular library hours.

Acceptable donations include new unwrapped gifts for children from infancy to 18-years-old as well as gift cards to popular stores for children.

Children in foster care can feel very much alone during the holiday season and remember good times with their biological families before the abuse began, according to Monmouth County Foster and Adoptive Family Services.

Monmouth County Foster and Adoptive Family Services' Holiday Celebrations offer possibilities for foster children to meet and identify with other children in similar circumstances. They also work to reunite siblings placed in a different foster home.

The organization works to remind these children, who were removed from their biological families due to abuse and neglect, that there are people out there who care about them.
