Get Into the Wild During the DEP's 2nd Annual Outdoors Expo

This year's Expo is held at the Colliers Mill Wildlife Management Area in Jackson Township.

Learn more about the wilderness around you today during the DEP Second Annual WILD Outdoor Expo, where you will learn how to make the most of New Jersey’s hundreds of thousands of acres of parks forests and wildlife areas.

This year's Expo began yesterday and continues today at the Colliers Mill Wildlife Management Area in Jackson Township, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, rain or shine.

DEP staff and a host of experts will provide plenty of fascinating and challenging hands-on activities and demonstrations geared toward people of all ages and skill levels, including programs on camping, hiking, fishing, archery, kayaking, animal tracking, shooting, rock climbing, wildlife watching and much more.

"These first-rate programs showcase the many diverse and extremely affordable outdoor experiences available throughout the State," said Amy Cradic, DEP Assistant Commissioner for Natural and Historic Resources, in a press release. "Whether you are a novice or a seasoned outdoors lover, this is your one-stop information and demonstration event for learning how to explore, experience and enjoy New Jersey's natural beauty."

Numerous environmental and conservation exhibits, demonstrations and seminars are planned throughout the weekend. An outdoors supply flea market will help get you started on your adventures. Food will be available from vendors, or pack your own food if you prefer.

The Expo is sponsored by the DEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife, Division of Parks and Forestry, and Green Acres Program, as well as the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey. It is partly financed by a grant from the Weatherby Foundation International. 

Admission and parking are free. Most activities are free, except for a few that are offered for a modest fee. Some activities and events require pre-registration.
