Manalapan Volunteer Honored by Monmouth County Parks System

From sorting donations for Sandy Relief Efforts to assisting during races, Monmouth County volunteers gave 27,000 hours to the Park System.

Manalapan resident Mitchell Dormont was honored for volunteering over 40 hours of service for the Monmouth County Parks System in 2012. Dormont was one of over 160 volunteers honored for their service.

The volunteers were honored on March 3 at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at Hominy Hill Golf Course. Volunteers in the park system around the county logged over 27,000 hours of service.

“Your support contributes to the success of our recreation programs, special events and park facilities on many levels," said Coordinator of Volunteers Melissa Kelly.

Volunteers log hours as trip leaders, cleaning historical sites, building and maintaining the trails in Monmouth County, and maintaining natural resources, according to a county news release.

Dormont, of Manalapan, volunteered over 40 hours of service during 2012 for the Monmouth County Parks System.
