PHOTOS: Manalapan Mayor's Charity Ball

The Manalapan Mayor's Ball was held on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The Manalapan Mayor's Charity Ball, held Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, honored local community members and raised money for charity via a Silent Auction.

This year, all donations went to:

  • The Samaritan Center, food pantry serving Manalapan, Englishtown, Marlboro and Millstone
  • Brennan Stands Alone Foundation, foundation in honor of U.S. Army 1st Lt. Brian Brennan of Howell, an Operation Enduring Freedom combat veteran who was seriously injured. The Foundation works to ease the burden of routine stress for those injured in the line of duty.
  • 180 Turning Lives Around, a private, non-profit dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault
  • Manalapan Arts Council, the council which provides diverse artistic programming to Manalapan Township

This year's honorees were:

  • Kalman "Butch" Budai
    • Budai is an active volunteer in the community who currently sits on the Zoning Board, Recycling Committee, the Economic Development Committee and the Manalapan Community Emergency Responce Team (CERT)
  • Dotty Porcaro
    • Porcaro is an Assistant Community Emergency Response Team Coordinator and a member of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education
  • Gerry Ricciardi
    • Ricciardi is an area manager for Jercey Central Power and Light (JCP&L), an electric utility operating company of FirstEnergy Corp. He is the liaison between JCP&L and Manalapan Township
  • Dr. Phillip Tutnauer
    • Tutnauer is a board certified Podiatrist who practices in Manalapan and Hamilton. He also is an active volunteer firefighter for the Gordons Corner Fire Company and a certified safety officer in the fire service.
  • Jan H. Zachary
    • Zachary is the Cable Television Coordinator for the Manalapan Township Television Network. He also volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician on the Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad.

Monmouth County Freeholders Lillian Burry, John Curley, and Serena DiMaso presented each honoree with an official proclamation naming October 20 their day in Monmouth County.

New Jersey State Senators Sam Thompson, Ron Dancer, and Robert Clifton were also in attendance and presented the awards to the honorees.
