Rare Breed Dog Show Makes Tails Wag

The Rare Breed Association held a dog show at Monmouth Battlefield State Park Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5.

The American Rare Breed Association held a dog show at Monmouth Battlefield State Park on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5. The Association, based in Maryland, provides show venues all across the United States for less common dog breeds not recognized by the American Kennel Club.

About 20 dogs and their humans, some from New Jersey but many from Pennsylvania, turned out to strut their stuff in the judging ring. For some puppies it was their first exhibition, and for some older veterans it was familiar ground. The show was a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy the beautiful weather and be introduced to some rare breeds for the first time.
