TELL US: Where Are You Seeing Deer on Monmouth County Roads?

Caution your neighbors on highly populated sections of Monmouth County roads.

This week, the Department of Environmental Protection warned New Jersey residents that with mating season upon us, deer will become more erratic on New Jersey roads.

“White-tailed deer are on the move and unpredictable during this season,” said Division of Fish and Wildlife Director David Chanda. “Deer are much more likely to dart into roads without warning at this time of year. Drivers should be extra alert to avoid collisions that could result in injuries and damage to their vehicles.”

While the Monmouth County Parks System allows hunting on county ground as a means of controlling the deer population, car accidents involving deer are still high in numbers.

"We are not out there hunting just because we want to, we are really seriously trying to manage the deer population," said Karen Livingstone, Public Information Officer for the Monmouth County Parks System.

What is with all these dog walkers at the recreation center? The entrance has TWO signs that says NO PETS. Why isnt this enforced? Didn't the township just build a dog park for that reason? I don't go there to play baseball, so why are you letting dogs run on my baseball field? Stop being so rude and selfish.
