Cesar Millan at Count Basie, Luau for Charity, and More This Weekend

This weekend is chock full of events sure to stave off boredom.

There's always something fun happening in Monmouth County, and this weekend is no exception.  For those of you who enjoy variety (who doesn't?) you're in for a treat. We've got a luau for charity, a meet and greet with several football stars, a musical featuring some talented teens, a visit from a celebrity dog trainer, and a tea party in a colonial farmhouse. What more could you want?

An Evening with Cesar Millan at Count Basie Theater

When & where: Friday, 8 p.m. at the in Red Bank

Why you should go: In Cesar Millan's very popular show "The Dog Whisperer," he transforms even the most misbehaved dogs into lovable, obedient pets. This Friday, he'll be sharing his magic with an audience at Count Basie Theater

Why you should go: This musical romantic comedy tells a tale of the trials and tribulations of young love.  It is presented by Young Stars on the Rise and the Middletown Township Cultural and Arts Council and features a cast of 22 talented teens from the area.

What it will cost: Tickets are $15, with a discounted rate of $10 for seniors and children under 10.

When & where: Saturday, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Pro Image in the Freehold Raceway Mall

Why you should go: Philadelphia Eagles stars LeSean McCoy and Owen Schmitt will be making their first appearance at Freehold Raceway Mall. This is your chance to meet two pro athletes and get some valuable autographs.

What it will cost: Autographs by McCoy will cost $45, and those by Schmitt will cost $20.

When & where: Saturday, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at  in Long Branch

Why you should go: Shake off your winter blues with a luau to benefit the Kortney Rose Foundation. Enjoy a buffet of island-inspired cuisine, including Shaka's famous Hawaiian shaved ice. The Foundation works to fund research into pediatric brain tumors, in memory of Kortney.

Why you should go: The historic Murray Farmhouse, which dates back to the 1770s, is the perfect setting for a colonial tea party. Enjoy a lovely tea and learn a little about George and Martha Washington. Adults and children are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
