This year the Manalapan Photo Contest's theme was "Manalapan: An Appreciation of a Where I Live". Manalapan residents from various Township committees, commissions and boards voted on their favorite pictures in the adult, 13-17-olds, and 12-years-old and under categories. A fourth category, "People's Choice", was voted on by people at Manalapan Day.
There were 33 entries this year who came up with diverse and beautiful images of Manalapan Township in all seasons.
...And the winners are:
- Age 12 and under: Shannon Josephs, “My Little Chickadee”
- Ages 13-17: Caitlyn Lee, “Railroad”
- Adult: Jerry Avergon, “Farmhouse”
- Peoples Choice: Brian Case, “Purple Skies”
The winners were acknowledged at the last Township Committee meeting and each received a $50 cash award.
“The photos that were submitted were great," Mayor Susan Cohen said. "They covered so much of what makes Manalapan a great place to live and recreate in. There were pictures of beautiful places, peaceful moments, colorful images and some portraits of people around town."
All of the submitted photos are on display in Town Hall during July and August and are also available for viewing on the Manalapan Township Web site.
