Community Spirit on the Wall: Applebee's Manalapan Mural

Local images grace the wall of the Applebee's in Manalapan.

The Applebee's restaurant located at 55 Rt. 9 South in Manalapan has redecorated their interior with a fully-Manalapan vibe! Hundreds of pictures of local residents don the walls of the restaurant within mosaics and collages.

The pictures show off Braves pride by including images of football and baseball players and cheerleaders from . Volunteer firemen, veterans, and active-duty military images are also on the walls.

The decor is completely themed to the Manalapan community, although restaurant goers will also be able to spot some students from Rutgers University, and Howell, Marlboro, Freehold and Colts Neck high schools.

Besides the new murals, the Applebee's also put casual seating in the bar area, 12 flat screen TV's in the dining and bar area, and warmed up the interior with new colors.

“People love the new murals,”  Robert Phillips, the General Manager of the Manalapan Applebee’s said. “They stop in and search our walls to see who they can find: a neighbor, their team or a relative—and take photos alongside their friends and family.”

The outside of the restaurant also got an update with new awnings and signs, including a shined up red apple logo!

“From our annual Breakfast with Santa ‘Toys for Tots’ fundraiser to community car washes, scouting programs and outdoor barbeques for local groups, we’re proud to be a part of the Manalapan community—and now we’re proud they are part of our new look,” Phillips said.
