One lucky Englishtown Quick Chek patron walked out of the store $40,000 richer.
New Jersey Lottery announced Monday that the Powerball ticket purchased for Saturday’s drawing included a Power Play Option, multiplying a would-be $10,000 ticket into the $40,000 amount.
There were no first or second prize winners in the Powerball drawing, but the $40,000 ticket was one of six third prize winners in the state.
In addition to the Wilson Avenue Quick Chek, convenience stores in Jersey City, Ridgewood, Edison and Bridgewater also sold winning tickets.
Some 28,445 other New Jersey players took home $155,691 in prizes ranging from $4 to $200, according to a press release from the New Jersey Lottery.
With no top prize winner, the Powerball jackpot will roll to $116 million for the next drawing to be held on Wednesday.
