Fall Harvest Festivals in Monmouth County and Beyond

A list of some fun-filled harvest festivals taking place this fall!

Hometown Harvest Fair

Where: Hightstown - the Historic Business district

When: Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What: The 10th annual Hometown Harvest Fair welcomes about 10,000 patrons each year to downtown Highstown. Enjoy over 250 vendors selling art work, hand-crafted items, seasonal decor, home and garden supplies and more. There will also be over 65 food vendors serving a variety of delicacies to munch on. A children's area with inflatables, clowns, jugglers, petting zoo, pony rides, and children's entertainment will keep the kiddies. Adults can take a ride on a mechanical bull, eat in the chili tasting contest, enjoy a motorcycle and antique car show, and more. The Ducky Derby will close out the day.

Highlands 12th Annual Oktoberfest

Where: Veteran's Park in Highlands, at Bay Ave & Shrewsbury Aves.

When: Saturday, Oct. 6 2:00 - 9:00 p.m.

What: Traditional Bavarian Food, German Beers, Oompah Bands, Specialty Vendors, Contests, Children's activities and more.  Raindate October 7, 12-8 p.m.

 

Calico Fair Festival & White Elephant Sale

Where: Middletown - On the grounds outside historic Christ Church and inside the Undercroft, 90 Kings Highway. 

When: The outdoor Festival is Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; White Elephant Rummage and Book Sale: Friday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What: Live music, a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, holiday crafts, homemade baked goods, raffles, photo booth, gift baskets, lots of kids’ games and prizes. 

 

Family Fun Day

Where: Middletown's W.M. Potter & Son Farm on Red Hill Road

When: Saturday, Oct. 6 from 1 - 4 p.m.

What: Middletown Reformed Church's fair. A $5 entrance fee per car covers hay ride, bounce house, face painting and more. Gift basket raffle, calendar raffle and super 50 /50. Vendor tables. Great food and desserts. 

 

Bordentown Cranberry Festival

Where: Bordentown - Farnsworth Avenue

When: Saturday, Oct. 6  and Sunday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

What: Enjoy historic downtown Bordentown for the 23rd annual Cranberry Festival - the largest juried craft show in Central New Jersey. There will be 145 exhibitors displaying original artwork, hand-crafted items, Jersey fresh wines, jewelry, and more. There will also be gourmet food available. Oh, and cranberries. Lots and lots of cranberry flavored items including breads, cakes, honey, jellies, relishes, hot sauces and more! A classic car show will be on display on Saturday only.

 

Belmar Fall Festival

Where: Belmar - Belmar Plaza

When: Sunday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

What: The Belmar Fall Festival is a fun-filled autumn day in the heart of Belmar with four stages of music, a children's entertainment area, a chili cook-off and an apple pie baking contest. There will be about 100 exhibitors selling arts, crafts, photography and more. If the fall air increases your appetite, you can chow down at over 25 food booths.  


Allentown Fall Festival

Where: South Main Street and Heritage Park in downtown Allentown, NJ.

When: Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

What: If you're looking for a fall festival with some history and action - this is the one for you! The Allentown Fall Festival holds a Civil War reenactment in their Heritage Park every year and the live show is not to miss. This isn't just a Civil War show, however. The Allentown Fall Festival has about 90 vendors of artisans and crafters selling their wares. There will also be a classic car show, live music and entertainment, contests, a lot of food vendors, and a petting zoo. 

 

Old Mill Harvest Craft Fair

Where: Old Mill Elementary School, 2119 Old Mill Road, Sea Girt

When: Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What: This craft fair is an annual fundraiser for the Old Mill Elementary School in Sea Girt. There will be over 60 arts and craft vendors sprawled throughout the school gym to peruse. Booths will be selling leather goods, linens, home decor, crafts, ceramics, and the like. There will also be kids' activities, food vendors, and booths selling baked goods.

 

Fall for Horses Festival

Where: Horse Park of New Jersey, 626 Route 524 in Allentown

When: Sunday, Oct. 21 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

What: The Fall for Horses Thoroughbred Charity Horse Show and Family Festival will feature 36 classes of thoroughbred horses and has a variety of vendors selling food, arts and crafts, books, jewelry, soaps, pet and equine supplies, and seedling Christmas trees. Meet author Alex Brown, who penned "Greatness and Goodness: Barbaro and His Legacy". There will also be pumpkin painting, an apple cider stand, free kids' crafts, raffles and prizes, and dog adoptions. Children in grades Kindergarten through ninth grade are encouraged to dress up for Halloween for a costume contest and there will also be an equine costume class!
