The Curvy Bride, a designer plus-size bridal boutique, has open it's doors in the Towne Pointe Shopping Center on Route 9 South in Manalapan Township.
Owner Michelle Files, a Manalapan resident, wanted to serve an underserved market, as a large number of designer wedding gowns are not offered in plus-sizes. Therefore, The Curvy Bride sells plus-size bridal gowns in sizes 18 through 32W. The store will also be selling Mother of the Bride and special occasion dresses in sizes 18 through 30 in the near future, Files said.
The Curvy Bride is the first plus-size bridal boutique in the tri-state area, according to Files, and women from as far as Pennsylvania and New York have already traveled to the store to shop its wares.
The official grand opening party and ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Sept. 7 with Mayor Susan Cohen and Committeeman Jack McNaboe present. The party included music by keyboardist Arnie Abrams Entertainment, a photo booth from Premier Event Rentals & Unforgettable DJs, photography by Patricia Hart Zackman, and gift baskets from retailers including Indulge Jewelry, Salon Cemone, Chocolate Carousel, Down the Aisle Events, and Jersey Cookie Girl.
"I am so deeply touched by the generosity of my neighboring retail stores that have welcomed me with open arms and donated products and services to help make our grand opening celebration a success," Files said at the celebration.
The Towne Point Shopping Center has recently undergone a renovation and The Curvy Bride is just one of the new retail businesses to have open up in the shopping plaza.
Appointments and walk-ins at The Curvy Bride are welcome. The store is open daytime, evenings, and weekends with private seating and dressing areas with refreshments. For more information, visit The Curvy Bride's website at www.thecurvybridenj.com or call 732-536-6100.
