Women Business Owners of Monmouth County Usher In a New Year

Networking, education, and a support system of women help these business owners become successful in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

A lot can be said for a room full of supportive and successful women, and it's hard to believe that a networking group as successful as NJAWBO began in a diner 35 years ago.

The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners ushered in a new year at Bella Vista Country Club in Marlboro last week, championing each other's local businesses and cementing a longstanding network of women supporting women.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno was the original keynote speaker for the dinner, but a last minute scheduling change brought Liz Mackay, Senior Policy Advisor to Guadagno.

Receiving the $500 Donna Myers Entrepreneurial Scholarship was Amanda Kocheran, a 19-year-old Manalapan resident who has successfully started an equestrian business called Up a Knotch in Manalapan while remaining a full-time student at Brookdale Community College.

With chapter all over New Jersey, NJAWBO is the oldest women business owners organization in the country. For more information about how to join, visit the Monmouth County chapter site.
