The Power of Social Theater, The Power of DRATZ

DRATZ, a Social Theater Group for children, teens and adults and I am proud to say that DRATZ is official and would love for you to come and check us out on September 10, 5-6:30 at Twist-N-Shout in Manalapan, NJ. PLEASE KEEP READING:))))

My name is Jenny Sarf and I am the founder of DRATZ, with Nathan Kahn in Admin; a theater program dedicated for children, teens and adults with autism and special needs. I am presently opening studio space for DRATZ in Marlboro, NJ where classes will begin in November 2013. DRATZ is also raising funds for, Emmy award winner Elaine Hall from the Miracle Project, to have a team train; the actors, volunteers and staff. DRATZ classes will be held weekly for children, teens and adults starting in November 2013 and are the following: Improv/Social Drama Skills, Music Therapy, Songwriting Skills, and Broadway Jr. Production. I truly believe theater and the arts is a fantastic tool for all individuals to educate, socialize and build confidence among their peers. DRATZ is unique because it is the community with all shapes and sizes and all different types of backgrounds. Theater is life, a tool for expression, and what better way to bring everyone together and learn from each other. I presently read an article about a teenage boy who is a mute and is autistic but when he was given a microphone, boy does he have a voice! I presently teach a 13 yr. old who also is a mute but she sure can communicate through music and we don't need to talk because the keys talk for us!! Many parents have express an interest for more programs and there are many kids, teens and adults who want to learn the gift of music but we need to come together as artists and give them the recourses for their inner voice and growth in their world and their environment. How great would it be to give adults with special needs the gift to work and educate others in the music and theater world or even the music technology world. They are brilliant on the iPads so why not, in the recording business, or orchestra or even a comedian or an actor on television.
I myself am a music and theater teacher and presently teach children with autism as well as special needs. I also work at Solomon Schechter Day School, k-8 in Marlboro, NJ where I developed and build the music and theater program. I have worked with the hearing impaired and Down Syndrome and myself is music performer and advocate for the arts. Pleae come out and support DRATZ fundraiser on September 10 from 5-6:30 where you will learn more about DRATZ courses and what they can anspire you to do!! Hope to see you there and thank you for taking the time to read about DRATZ.My contact number is: 480-789-0826www.dratzsocialtheater.org Jenny Sarf Founder of DRATZ and Nathan Kahn Admin of DRATZ
