Attention Cablevision Customers...

Cablevision continues to deny viewers additional CBS programming and access to NJ live lotto drawings

Astute viewers of WCBS may continue to notice references to WLNY TV 10/55 on their air. WLNY was purchased last year by CBS and is the new sister station to WCBS, Channel 2. As such, when WCBS has other programming commitments, such as breaking news, weather events, or Jets preseason football in the fall, WCBS has and continues to place regular CBS daytime and primetime programming on WLNY-TV.

Viewers may also remember that NJ live lotto drawings used to be televised on NJN, before it became NJTV. Well, the live drawings are still televised, on WLNY. Households in New York on Long Island can see it, but we cannot! I bring this up because WLNY is available on all other carriers including Verizon and Comcast, who added the channel back in August 2012 all the way down to Ocean County! However, WLNY is still not available on Cablevision in Monmouth, Bayonne, and Newark NJ. Therefore, viewers in these markets (me included) continue to be the only one's in the state that remain shut out of additional CBS programs and our state's live lotto drawings. Yet, Cablevision finds no problem with this.

I urge anyone reading this, who relies on Cablevision for their TV service to give them a call (http://www.optimum.net/Support/PhoneList), email them, or post on their Facebook page (search: Optimum) and demand they carry WLNY and stop shutting us out of a service that most other residents have access to!
