2. Flags Half-Staff: The United States of America flag and the flag of the State of New Jersey will be flown at half-staff at all state offices today in memory of those who died in the Newtown, Conn. shooting.

3. MERS BOE: The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District is holding a regular Board of Education meeting at Pine Brook School tonight at 7:30 p.m.

5. Movie at the Library: Tuesday is movie day at Monmouth County Library Headquarters. As a part of the library’s “Here’s Hoping! A Film Series”, “New Year’s Eve” will be playing today at 2 p.m. The romantic comedy follows intertwining stories set to the backdrop of New Year’s Eve in New York City. The movie is chock-full of A-list celebrities including Jon Bon Jovi, Josh Duhamel, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel and Halle Berry.
