5 Things to Know Today in Manalapan: Jan. 4, 2013

A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township and the Borough of Englishtown.

1. Sunny and Clear: Today will be mostly sunny with a high temperature around 37, according to the National Weather Service. It will also be a bit breezy today with wind gusts reaching up to 30 MPH. Tonight, the sky will remain clear and the low temperature will drop to about 24.

 

2. Monmouth Battlefield Park Clean Up: Burners Without Borders is cleaning up a post-Sandy Monmouth Battlefield Park today. There will be heavy lifting, so all volunteers should be adults. If interested, pre-register here.

4. Polar Bear Run and Plunge: The Tuff Kids Polar Bear Run and Plunge to support Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is being held on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 8 a.m. at the New York Sports Club located at 34 Route 9 North in Morganville. Kids between the ages of 4 and 13 are welcome to come and it costs $35 to participate.

 

5. Meteor Shower: The Quadrantids Meteor Shower, the first meteor shower of 2013, will be peaking tonight and the skies will be clear so be sure to watch!
