5 Things to Know Today in Manalapan: July 13, 2012

1. Gorgeous Summer Day: Happy Friday! The weather is being good to us so far this summer and today is no exception. Expect partly sunny skies with a high around 91, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, there is a slight chance of rain and storms late. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy with a low around 66.

 

 

2. No More Cardboard Pick-up: Englishtown residents will no longer have their cardboard taken with their regular garbage pick up on Tuesdays and Fridays. Instead, residents must flatten their cardboard, bundle it, and put it out with their recycling on the second and fourth Thursday of the month.

3. : Starting today and lasting through the weekend, Driscoll’s Berries is teaming up with to help out the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey. When you buy Driscoll’s strawberries at the Manalapan Wegmans, 50 cents will be donated to the children’s charity.

4. “The Muppets” Movie: No Saturday plans? Bring the kids over to the to see “The Muppets” as a part of the library’s Summer Family Film Festival. The movie starts at 10 a.m.

 

 

5. Sheriff Youth Week Graduation: The Monmouth County recruits who participated in Sheriff Youth Week are officially graduation today at the Monmouth Police Academy at 9 a.m. For more information on this program, which is in it’s 20th year, .
