1. Rainy Day: The heat wave cools today with a high around 76 and a 90 percent chance of rain. The National Weather Service is also calling for some wind between 10 and 13 MPH. Tonight, showers are likely to continue and the low temperature nears 64.

 

 

2. Ramadan: Today is the first day of Ramadan, the beginning of the Muslim month of fasting for the purpose of submitting one’s self to God. Ramadan lasts one month and practicing Muslims must abstain from eating, drinking, and sex from dawn to dusk during the religious observance.

3. Anti-Bullying Positive Party: The Bullying…We’re Kicking It National Campaign Weekly Student Positive Party is being held at the Freehold Mall tonight from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. for students between the ages of 6 and 14. There will be art, music, interactive social activites, recreation and educational games and possibly some surprise appearances by various campaign supporters.

4. “Kung Fu Panda 2” at the Library: As part of Summer Family Film series, will be showing at 10 a.m. this Saturday.
 

 

 

5. Jazz and Blues Festival: If you love jazz and blues music you should head down the shore this weekend for the Point Pleasant Jazz and Blues Festival. The festival is taking place in Riverside Park in Point Pleasant from noon to 8 p.m. this Saturday. Enjoy live music, food, vendors, a beer and wine garden and beautiful river views.
