5 Things to Know Today in Manalapan: Nov. 1, 2012

A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township and the Borough of Englishtown.

1. Cloudy: The National Weather Service is calling for a cloudy day with a high around 57 degrees. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low temperature dropping to about 39.

 

2. Schools:  Manalapan High School and all elementary schools within the Manalapan-Englishtown district will remain closed today. A decision will be made at 6 p.m. tonight as to whether MERS district schools will be open on Friday.

3. Amnesty Program: Manalapan Township’s Construction Department Amnesty Program, which allows residents to apply for the appropriate permits for construction work previously done without a permit without being penalized, has been extended to Wednesday, Nov. 7. The program was originally scheduled to end on Oct. 31.

4. Storm Hotline: Manalapan Township has established a hotline for any storm-related questions at 732-446-3200.

Your worried about an amnesty program for permits, how about you take some if the 12k I pay in taxes and get schools powered up and get my kids some education. I can understand about my home, but this is crazy. In addition, maybe we should switch our power company to PSEG as they have 50% of their customers up in 4 days. I am sure my energy costs will go up, should I bill jcpl for my generator costs / gas
