5 Things to Know Today in Manalapan: Nov. 8, 2012

A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township and the Borough of Englishtown.

1. Another Wet Day: There is a slight chance of rain and snow before 11 a.m. and a small chance of rain showers between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The rest of the day will be cloudy and then gradually become mostly sunny with the high temperature reaching around 45. Tonight will be partly cloudy with the low dipping to about 31.

 

2. Government: The Town Hall meeting that was originally scheduled for tonight at the Covered Bridge Clubhouse at 8 p.m. has been cancelled by Covered Bridge due to the poor weather conditions.

3. Manalapan Rec Center: According to the Manalapan Township government, the Manalapan Recreation Center will be closing at 5 p.m. every day until further notice.

4. Manalapan Senior Center: All regularly scheduled events at the Manalapan Senior Center have been suspended until further notice. The Senior Center is currently being used as a shelter. Please check the Manalapan website for more information.

5. Small Business Owners Hit by Sandy: All small business owners in New Jersey that were affected negatively by Hurricane Sandy are encouraged to be on a conference call today at 2 p.m. with state and federal officials. Officials from the FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, and the New Jersey Business Action Center will be on the call providing updates and answers for those that need help.
