A Little Bit of Cuba: Just the Right Amount of Good Food

Eat well without having to travel far.

There are not very many Cuban restaurants in the area, or even the state if you want to get technical about it. A Little Bit of Cuba in Freehold manages to fill the void with its authentic fare and generous portions.

The atmosphere inside hints at elegance with white table cloths and warm intimate lighting. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner. The menu includes one of the most popular Cuban dishes, the Cuban sandwich, complete with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and the perfect amount of mustard and mayo and served hot.

Dinner starts with fried plantains, but don't fill up because you'll want to leave room for all that follows. Cuban food is a hearty mix of Spanish, African and Caribbean flavors and influences that won't leave you with much room for dessert.

Favorites include fricasseed chicken, ropa vieja, churrasco a la parilla, boliche, paella valenciana, empanadas, fried plantains filled with shrimp and the fat shrimp. Don't forget the Cuban sandwich and also try their family style salad.

A Little Bit of Cuba is open from Monday through Sunday, so any day is a good time for grabbing a little or a lot of Cuba.
