Are you passionate about something in Manalapan or Englishtown? Have you always wanted to voice your opinions and thoughts but have not had an appropriate outlet? Contact us! Whether it's food, family, schools, government, business, social issues, exercise, fashion or business— if it's your thing, we'd like you to consider blogging for Patch. Anyone may apply.
Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about our community. So, beginning May 4, we will be making room for local bloggers on all our sites.
We're ramping up our local commentary/analysis/humor/insight coverage and we would love for you to consider Patch your home. For Manalapan, Englishtown, and Monmouth County residents who haven't been shy about sharing your views on anything, we'd like to give your blogs a place to live on our sites. We're looking for bloggers who can riff on various topics, share their personality and engage our readers in discussions.
I am interested in talking with:
- Parents, High School Students, Teachers and Professors
- Bartenders, Baristas, Chefs and Foodies
- Fashion Experts, Stylists and Crafters
- Musicians, Live Music Fans, Audiophiles and Artists
- Hard-working Parents and PTA members
- Volunteers and Nonprofit Workers
- Health and Fitness Experts
- Local Sports Fans
- Home Decorators and Gardeners
- Local Politicians and Members of Law Enforcement
Don't be shy! Manalapan Patch is on a mission to recruit fresh voices, and this is a great opportunity to make your voice heard. We want to hear what you have to say.
Much like The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience. Patch bloggers are not paid and will own their blogs, so if you are already blogging and want to share with our readers, too, let us know. This is a chance to share your expertise and opinions with a wider audience!
This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say, when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.
Be interesting. Be funny. Be concerned. Be provocative. Be yourself.
As editor, my role on this site will be to review blog entries submitted to Manalapan Patch to ensure there are no libelous claims. I might correct obvious typos, too.
While opinions are welcome, personal insults, unfounded claims and defamation are not what we're looking for. As long as your intention is to keep things above-board, we're happy to have you on the site.
Contact Katrina Rossos if you are interested in being a part of the conversation.
