Five Things to Know: April 15-17

A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township.

1. Weekend Weather: The National Weather Service is calling for a partly sunny day with high temperatures in the mid 50s. Saturday brings some clouds and a 60 percent chance of rain in the afternoon. The high temperatures on Saturday will reach the low 50s. On Sunday, expect a partly sunny day with highs in the mid 60s! Unfortunately, there will be a 50 percent chance of rain showers i the morning, so bring your umbrella with you just in case!

 

2. Charity: Manalapan High School is having a Darfur Benefit Concert Friday, April 15  from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the school's auditorium. Sponsored by the STAND club with assistance from the SAVE club, all proceeds will be donated to a charity in support of Darfur. Cost of admission is $5.

3. Manalapan High School Sports: Here is a list of the home and away games taking place Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16. No games are scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 17.

4. Englishtown Easter Egg Hunt: Come on down to Sanford Park in Englishtown on Saturday, April 16. The egg hunt begins at noon sharp! Rumor has it the Easter Bunny may be hopping on by. So be on time and don't forget to bring a basket! Rain date will be Saturday, April 23.

 

5. Pooch Run: Run down to Monmouth Battlefield State Park on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. This is will be the third annual Run for the Animals, which benefits the Monmouth County SPCA. The 40-Yard Doggie Dash will begin at 10 a.m. and the 3K race starts at 10:15 a.m. The fee for the doggie dash is $1 and the cost to run in the 3K is $13. The event includes free food, a DJ, t-shirts, trophies, medals and raffles.
