Five Things to Know Today: August 16, 2011

1. More Rain a Possibility: Today will be mostly cloudy with a high around 75 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. After 1 p.m. there is a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with a low near 61.

2. Parkinson’s Support Group: Both Parkinson’s sufferers and caregivers of those suffering from Parkinson’s disease are meeting today for a at the from 11 a.m. to noon. The support group meets every third Tuesday of the month.

3. Adopt, Adopt, Adopt!: It is Manalapan Week at the Monmouth County SPCA. As a part of their Community Pets Program the MCSPCA is featuring a different town every week from August through October. This week, Aug. 15 - Aug. 21, the MCSPCA is featuring Manalapan Township.
