1. Cloudy and Temperate: Today will be mostly cloudy with a high around 46, according to the National Weather Service.  Tonight, there is a 30 percent chance of rain and low around 33.

 

 

2. First Night of Chanukah: Happy Chanukah! Today is the first day of the Festival of Lights, a Jewish holiday that lasts eight days in commemoration of Jerusalem’s Holy Temple rededication during the second century B.C. Tonight the shamash (middle light on the menorah, higher than the others) and the first light will be lit on the menorah.

3. MERS BOE: The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. at their in Englishtown. The agenda for tonight’s meeting is not yet posted on the district Web site.

5. “Holiday” Movie: Come see the classic, holiday romantic comedy, , directed by George Cukor, at the today. The film, which stars Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn, is playing as a part of the library’s “Out of Control: A Film Series” program. The movie will show at 2 p.m.
