Five Things to Know Today: Dec. 29, 2011

1. Small Possibility of Snow, Late: Today will be partly sunny with a high around 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of precipitation and a low of 32 - meaning the wet weather may include a mix of rain and snow showers. Otherwise, the night will be mostly cloudy.

 

2. Winter Recess Movie: If you missed “The Smurfs” when it hit the theaters this past summer, check out the little blue creatures today at the . “The Smurfs” will be showing at 10 a.m. and is open to everyone; children under five must be accompanied by an adult.

 

3. Monmouth Battlefield Visitor Center Closed: The Visitor Center at Monmouth Battlefield State Park is closed for renovations up until the spring of 2013. For more information about the construction, or about park activities please contact the park office at 732-462-9616. The park will be open for all other recreational activities.

 

4. Wemrock Brook School Summer Program: The Summer Program in 2012 held at will last from July 9 through Aug. 9 and registration will begin on Jan. 15 at 12:01 a.m. Space is limited and courses will close when they are at full capacity.
