Five Things to Know Today: Feb. 16, 2012

A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township and the Borough of Englishtown.

1. Rainy Day and Night: There will be an 80 percent chance of rain today which will most likely fall after 2 p.m.; high near 50, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, the rain will continue to fall until about 1 a.m. and the temperature will drop to a low of about 34.

 

 

2. Government:

3. Manalapan High School Sports:

Home

  • There are no home games scheduled today.

Away

  • Boys Varsity Basketball Shore Conference Tournament Game vs. Middletown High School North at 6 p.m.

 

 

4. Registration at the Library: Today you can register your children to two great programs at the Monmouth County Library:

 

  • St. Patrick’s Day Program -  learn Irish dancing, the Irish language, hear stories, sample home-made soda bread, and make a Celtic art project on March 1 at 4 p.m..  For children in grades K-6.
  • Dr. Seuss Birthday Program - children ages 5 and up can play Dr. Seuss book bingo, win prizes, and celebrate with birthday cake on Feb. 27 at 4:15 p.m.

In person registration for both programs begins at 9 a.m. and phone registration begins at 3 p.m.

 

 

5. LeTip Meeting: The business networking group, LeTip, is meeting this morning at 7 a.m. at the Battleground Country Club. One person per profession is represented in the group, whose purpose is to have local business owners exchange referrals.
