1.Heat Index of 112: The excessive heat warning continues today as the temperatures continue to rise, according to the National Weather Service. The high today will reach 102 with a heat index of 112 and sunny skies. There will also be a widespread haze before 9 a.m. Tonight, will be partly cloudy with a low near 77.

 


2. Another reason to stay inside: The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code orange air quality alert for today for all of Monmouth County. A code orange means that the air pollution within the county is at an unhealthy level. Children, senior citizens, asthma sufferers, and people who suffer from heart and/or lung disease should reduce strenuous outdoor activity.

3. Beatlemania!: Come to the tonight at 7:30 p.m. to step back to the sixties and enjoy a performance by the . Tickets are $20 ahead of time and $25 at the door.

4. “A POW’s Story”:  David I. Drummond, a Manalapan resident and former prisoner of war, will speak at the Vietnam Era Museum and Education Center in Holmdel on Saturday, July 23 at 1 p.m. Drummond was taken prisoner by the North Vietnamese for three months.

 


5. Senior Center: There will be a at the today at 10:30 a.m.
