1. Perfect Beach Day: The National Weather Service is calling for a sunny day with a high temperature near 87. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 65.

2. Monmouth County Fair Kicks Off Today: The 37th Annual at the East Freehold Showgrounds, located at 1500 Kozloski Road. The fair begins today and lasts through Sunday. Highlights at the fair today include a flat rate of $18 for all the rides, strolling entertainers, petting zoo, food booths, animal exhibits and a 50/50 raffle. Today, the fair will be open from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.; fireworks will go off tonight at 9:15 p.m. 

3. Government: 

• The Englishtown Borough Council meets tonight at the . The council work session, which excludes public comment, begins at 6:30 p.m. and the regular meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

FRHSD Assistant Superintendents - No Raise; other administrator salaries increase by 2 percent: The Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education at their last meeting on Monday, July 25. Upon Superintendent Charles Sampson’s request, the assistant superintendents were reappointed with the same salary they have received since 2009 while the other non-unit employees were reappointed with at 2 percent salary increase for the 2011-2012 school year.
