Five Things to Know Today: June 27, 2011
A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township.
1. Beach Day: Today is the perfect day to fill up the cooler, pack the kids in the car, and head down the shore! Expect clear, mostly sunny skies and a high of 84, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low reaching 64.
2. Give Blood: A is being held today at the Dunkin’ Donuts on 14 Wilson Ave. in Englishtown from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. The blood drive is being hosted by Maya Ramachandran and Christina Chan which is being sponsored by the NY Blood Center. All volunteers and donors will receive one and a half hours of community service credit, as well as free coffee and two donuts. Additionally, all donors will receive an autograph from the Iconic Boyz and get a chance to meet the dance crew who may stop by during the event!

3. Fore!: Hit the links at the at the . A continental breakfast will be offered, the game begins at 8:30 a.m. and an awards luncheon will follow. The cost to play 18 holes is $150.

4. Back to School: Even though the summer heat is here and the kids are home, the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education is still working. The BOE meets tonight at 7 p.m. with the public portion opening at 8 p.m. Tonight, the BOE will be meeting at Colts Neck High School, located at 59 Five Points Road in Colts Neck.
