Five Things to Know Today: May 11, 2011

A compilation of the need to know info and events going on in, and around, Manalapan Township.

1. The beautiful days just keep coming... May rolls on with warm temperatures and cloudless skies -- a sure promise of a nice summer. But, let's  take a note from Manalapan Patch's columnist Jason Messina and . Today, expect a high of 69 degrees and predominantly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, the low will approach 51 and the sky will remain clear. 

 

2. It's the Hard Knock Life:  is putting on a production of Annie starting tonight at 7 p.m. in the school's auditorium. The spring musical will run from Wednesday, May 11 through Friday, May 13.  Tickets will be sold at the door. Come out and support our tween thespians!

3. Government:

  • The Manalapan Township Committee is meeting tonight in the courtroom of the at 8 p.m. The workshop session begins at 7 p.m. Here is a copy of tonight's agenda, as well as the bill list for April 14 through May 11, which action will be taken on tonight.

5. Picture Perfect: All submissions for the 2011 Manalapan Photo Contest MUST be in by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13. So if you are a procrastinating photographer, you better get snapping! This is the third annual photo contest run by the township; the theme this year is "Celebrations".

The picture must be a representation of what the photographer views as a celebratory event. Photographs do not have to be taken within the township. Manalapan residents are only allowed to submit one photograph. Accompanying the picture should be 25 word or less description of the location and event of the image portrayed.

Drop off photographs at the Manalapan Township Health Department (prints should be no larger than 5" x 7") or e-mail submissions to photocontest@mtnj.org. Make sure e-mailed submissions are less than 1.5 mb.
