Five Things to Know Today: Oct. 21, 2011

1. Sunny Day: Today will be mostly sunny with a high around 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low around 42.

 

2. Family Fun Invention Day: is holding a on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The actual Invention Fair will display Invention Adventure projects from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the final awards ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m.

• Bubbles! - Jeff Boyer will demonstrate the science of bubbles (bubble volcano, kid in a bubble, bubble rollercoaster) in a show at 11 a.m.

• Robots! - RoboRaiders will demonstrate a 120 lb. robot and allow kids to be hands on at 12:30 p.m.

• Slime, Silly Putty and Edible Gummies - Wondergy’s PolyScience Fair will be on display at 1:45 p.m. which will teach about molecules and why they clump together.

All people over 5 years-old are invited to attend. The Fair will be held in the Lower Gallery of the library.

4. : Tomorrow is THE day to bring your no longer needed confidential papers and SHRED them! Come over to the on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where your old documents can get shredded in a mobile truck.
 

5. : Visit the Sons of Norway Noreg Lodge at 80 Boundary Rd. in Marlboro for fun magic show put on by Mike the Magician at 7:30 p.m. A delicious dinner will follow; cost of admission is $12.
