5. Mad Hatter Day: Today is almost exactly half a year from April Fool’s Day, and because we all need another day of craziness within year today is the day! Mad Hatter Day is always on Oct. 6 because the Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” is always wearing a piece of paper that reads: “In this style 10/6”. Therefore, today is a day that celebrates silliness and opposites - what is usually sane is insane today, and vice versa. While this holiday is not an official national holiday, it does have a cult following. So be on the look out for some craziness around town today, and try not to judge!
