Five Things to Know Today: Sept. 26, 2011

1. Slight Chance of Rain: According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of rain today with patchy fog early this morning. The day will be mostly cloudy with a high around 82 degrees. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low temperature around 65.

 

2. Government:

• The Englishtown Borough Council meets tonight for a workshop meeting at 6:30 p.m. and a regular meeting open to the public at 7:30 p.m. Due to damage from Hurricane Irene, is still closed for repairs. Therefore, tonight’s meeting will take place at the Englishtown Fire House located at 3 South Main St.

• The Teen Community Emergency Response Team meets tonight in room 216 of the at 7 p.m.

• The Cable Television Advisory meets in room 213 of the at 7:30 p.m. 

3. Hurricane Irene Planning and Response Public Forum: The Board of Public Utilities will hold a public hearing in Monmouth County for county residents who were negatively impacted by Hurricane Irene’s destruction. The will take place on today, at the on 125 Symmes Drive in Manalapan, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

4. FRHSD BOE: The Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education meets tonight at 7 p.m. at their in Englishtown, at which time the Board will motion to go into a closed executive session; the regular meeting will begin at 8 p.m. For tonight’s agenda, click here.
