4. Rare Breed Dog Show: The comes back into town this weekend at the Monmouth Battlefield State Park. The dog show will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 and Sunday, Oct. 2. Sponsored by the Rare Breed Dog Association of America the dog show exhibits beautiful dogs of rare breeds that don’t get the recognition they deserve! 5. Dance and Run for Breast Cancer: You have two local opportunities to raise funds for breast cancer research:

  • The takes place Saturday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Freehold Ind. Fire Co. #1 (30 Siloam Road in Freehold). Tickets are $15 advanced/$20 at the door. There will be guest instructors, refreshments, glitter tattoos (for adults and kids) raffles and more.
  • 18th Annual Susan G. Komen Central and will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson. The walk and run supports breast cancer research, education, and screening services. The cost to participate is $28.
