Five Things You Need To Know

Five things you need to know about today, March 23.

1. Can't say much is good about this Spring morning, Manalapan and Englishtown. The National Weather Service predicts a good mix of rain and snow, with mostly rain after 10 a.m. The high for the day will be around 40 degrees.

2. Don't forget about tonight's Englishtown Bourough Council meeting.  The council is scheduled to to cover police upgrades and the 2 percent raise for all borough employees.

4. Know of any historic buildings in Manalapan or Englishtown that you think are worthy of recognition? The Monmouth County Historical Commission is accepting nominations for its annual preservation awards program. Any structure, including office buildings, houses of worship, public buildings and homes, that is over 50 years old, has historic value, and has undergone preservation work in 2010 is eligible for the award.

Visit Monmouth County’s Web site for entry information and an application. Completed applications should be mailed to Monmouth County Historical Commission, Hall of Records Annex, 2nd floor, Freehold, NJ 07728 by Friday, April 1.
